A stopped up sink is often caused build-up of hair, toothpaste and pieces of soap. If the sink fills up with water and drains very slowly, the most likely culprit could be the pop-up stopper. Sometimes it loads up with debris. If this is the case, a simple solution is available.
Tools & Materials
- Pliers
- Small Bottlebrush
STEPS
- Raise the stopper to the full upright position.
- Unscrew the nut that holds the pivot rod to the sink drain.
- Pull out pivot rod to release the stopper.
- Remove the stopper and proceed to clean debris from stopper.
- Re-install stopper, pivot rod and nut.
