This article has it all! Geothermal systems really do benefit not only the homeowner, but everybody else as well. Think for a minute about the homeowner; they have invested in a great system that benefits them by providing a sustainable source of energy that lasts generations, boosts their home equity, provides them with a clean source of heating and cooling, puts money back into their pockets each month, and reduces their heating and cooling costs for years. Just those reasons alone make me want to invest in this system. The flip side is that geothermal systems benefit others and the Earth by eliminating greenhouse gasses, providing back to the environment, and other homeowners around the neighborhood can jump on the geothermal bandwagon when they find out just how beneficial geothermal systems are. Put another check in the box for making me want to invest, again, in this system.
Geothermal energy is not hindered or dependant on weather conditions like other sources of natural energy. Wind, solar, and hydroelectricity are all dependant on their conditions. I'm not saying they are bad sources, just limited in their capabilities. Geothermal, however, can run a constant and sustainable system for homeowners 24/7/365. I was impressed to see that 400,000 homes are already running on this eco-friendly system. I just wonder how long it is going to take before many more people are able to use this source instead of relying on fossil fuels which are so harmful to everything. I think it would be great to have everyone kick over to geothermal, and any of the other sources of natural energy, so we can cut our dependency on foreign oil and fossil fuels. Already, there are some states, like Virginia, who are the top leaders of fossil fuel output who are looking to geothermal energy as a new resource to exploit to everyone and they are using the barren fossil fuel sites to harness this new-found energy. What a great idea!
I have seen most of the geothermal usage out west where there are more hot spots located, however, even in Florida people are individually investing in geothermal energy as a source for their home heating and cooling needs. A good website to check out for more info in Florida on this is http://www.egggeothermal.com and http://www.eggsystems.com There's helpful tips and information for southeastern residents interested in this energy for their homes and businesses.

I just came across this site and find it helpful. As a single mom, this helps with some of my little projects.

I will definitely mark this as a "favorite" so I can come back again.
